Our Mentor

Jaipal & Jaipal Advocates LLP as a firm is the brain child of our mentor and guide, Sh. J P Singh. For over three decades, he devoted his youth to working religiously for the Department of Customs & Central Excise before retiring after a highly decorated career in 2012. After retiring, he got into the world of consultation in the area of his expertise, i.e., GST, Service Tax, Customs & Central Excise. The childish enthusiasm and detailed knowledge of facts of each and every case that he works/has worked with is a pure joy to watch for the onlookers and a great motivator for any new comer in the field.

The firm has a network of professionals from the legal fraternity in addition to charted accountants, ex-government officials, trade experts, etc. who are spread over different cities across India. Jaipals is well-known for its high ethical standards, quality work and transparency in all its business dealings. With the support of his well-qualified associates, he has handled several high-profile litigations and has led the firm in representing clients in hundreds of litigations before Supreme Court of India, High Courts, tribunals and quasi-judicial authorities.

Today, Jaipal & Jaipal Advocates LLP advises companies in all areas of taxation, including International Taxation and Transfer Pricing, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Customs, Excise, Service Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), Special Economic Zones, offering consulting, advisory, litigation and compliance services.

Raminder Kaur

Raminder started her legal journey with Jaipals when her arguing skills caught the eye of Sh. Jai Pal Singh while arguing a complex customs matter in the Delhi High Court. After two years of working closely with Sh. J P Singh, Raminder currently handles tax as well as non-tax litigation at the High Court and Supreme Court as well as other Tribunals and regulatory forums. In addition to her law practice, Raminder is actively helping get justice for those hailing from the marginalised communities through her NGO, Taking Rights Seriously Foundation.

Priti Agarwal

Priti, hailing from a business family felt compelled to begin her legal journey at a later stage after having years of experience working with victims of domestic violence and the migrant labour through her social activism. Her rich cultural background enables her to establish a great rapport with the clients and opposite counsels alike, and provide her clients a safe and secure environment in their tryst with more complicated and sensitive personal matters. Her son was impressed by her commitment to the cause and decided to follow in her footsteps by becoming an advocate himself.

Tara Shankar Jha

Tara Shankar started his legal journey informally watching his father Late Balendu Arun Jha, a well-known & highly respected defence attorney. Even though Tara worked in the Information Technology field, his true love for Criminal Law compelled him to jump ship and make a name for himself in the profession as a defence attorney in his own right.

Sumit Suri

Sumit has extensive experience in the information technology field and combined that with in depth knowledge of cyber forensics. He has the experience of tackling cases with a scientific precision by analysing the probability of success in a suit. This quality puts him at a great advantage vis-à- vis a traditional litigant owing to the application of elimination method which greatly enhances the likelihood of success. Sumit currently handles the highly technical field of cyber law.

Rajesh Vig

Rajesh is a second-generation lawyer who was fascinated by study of law from a very young age watching his father (Advocate C P Vig) weave a web of words arguing in complex property law matters at Tis Hazari Court. His worldly experience combined with the dominating personality makes for a successful combination in the court rooms. Rajesh handles the complex world of property law matters.

Rajiv has experienced the joys of working in & learning from varied fields ranging from Banking & Finance, Aviation, Real Estate, Casinos and finally settling in his truly calling, i.e., a career in litigation. In addition to working closely with his father, Sh. Jai Pal Singh, in the matters of GST, Customs & Central Excise in different High Courts and the Supreme Court, he handles the niche area of Private International Law and complex Immigration matters in India as well as overseas. In addition to the law practice, Rajiv helps the economically disabled access justice through the NGO, Taking Rights Seriously Foundation.
